Prior to setting up Cool FM, Zellers was the lead singer of a rock band called The Old Village Stores. They were an idealistic bunch of scholars who funded their alcohol habit by playing for any nearby venue that kept their beer glasses filled. The band members had a turbulent relationship and eventually split up after one particular incident in which Zellers, in a rage, profoundly declared, "Bikers are happily dieing like flies on the roads man, too many of em believe in the glorified image of death painted by rock music. We've lost hope. F#@k this shit !!" He set fire to his entire collection of Rock vinyl outside the house they shared, shaved his head and promptly dismantled all components from his motorcycle. After this outburst, he abandoned his association with Heavy Rock and learnt to drive. Back to Cool FM History -->> |
