We know important role models to Zellers were leaving the UK music scene and he was becoming increasingly angst at the rise in commercialism compared to the fall in innovation within the industry. We believe he pulled the plug on CFM on one Friday evening when Pete Tong "continued" to play mainstream dance on UKs national Radio 1 despite many of his listeners pleas to play 140bpm Breakbeat. There's a recording of this moment here. Zellers' current whereabouts are unknown. Some people say he vanished into suburbia for a 9-5 desk job. Others say he's been estranged from friends and family. We don't know for sure, but the evidence we are collecting from our visitors appears to suggest that his impact on society has extended well beyond the sleepy hills of Amber Valley where he began. Unfortunately, we're unable to end the speculation until the day we track him down and interview him. If you can shed any more light on Zellers past and present activities please share your information, stories or images with us. Special thanks to former Old Village Stores band member R Lindop and our visitors for their contributions. |
