After parting company from the The Old Village Stores rock band in 1991, Zellers spent time with new friends who helped promote DJs in the Yorkshire and Lancashire circuit. Noticing a gap in the Derbyshire airwaves for the new sounds played by the DJs and inspired by the company he kept he pushed the music to the wider audience by setting up Cool FM and released limited bootlegs under the accompanying record label Cool Records. Zellers signature style of combining audio from the unknown artist with the well-known was prominent in much of his work, find three examples above. As the years pass, the demise of Cool FM and subsequent disappearance of Zellers is slowly becoming Derbyshire folklore, even the details we have are sketchy. <<--Prev More-->> |
